An article shows the use of a single-layer perceptron with a teacher to diagnose the state of the the front spindle assembly bearing of a lathe in two states: norm (0), the bearing is not tightened (1), within the framework of the phase-chronometric approach to the diagnosis of cyclic machines and mechanisms. It considers the selection of parameters for the optimal configuration of the neural network.

An article proposes to evaluate the surface quality on the basis of statistical processing of the measuring results of deviation of the surface shape of the rolls, considered as a random spatial process. As an estimate of the diagnostic parameter, the value of the correlation function of the measuring signals corresponding to the adjacent surface areas is used, which creates the prerequisites for increasing the reliability of monitoring and diagnostics of rolling mills.
